Solid Seventh For Chris Taylor At Silverstone, Focused On Oulton Next Week

Chris Taylor has his eyes on the final rounds of the 2018 BSB Motostar Championship after a solid seventh placed finish in race one at Silverstone yesterday. He sadly was forced to retire from today’s televised ‘feature’ race after running a strong sixth.

Improving his overall championship position in recent races, the #97 Microlise Cresswell Racing Mahindra rider bounced back from a spill at Cadwell Park a fortnight, ago by running inside the top ten all weekend, making a big step in race conditions in the latest round of the championship.

Nine points for seventh yesterday looked being added to handsomely in today’s encounter as Chris moved quickly through the field after starting tenth.

Soon inside the top six the former World Supersport 300cc championship front runner was forced to retire in the closing stages.

Naturally disappointed, Chris is focused on the next round at Oulton Park next week, where he hopes to fight his way into the top ten of the British Championship standings.

Chris Taylor:
“I made a bad start in race one but once I got going I was able to move forward quite easily and after a race long battle took seventh. I made a few silly mistakes but that’s racing and I was really looking forward to Sunday’s race. I made a good start and was aggressive as I knew I needed to be. I kept my head down but the bike started to get slower and in the end I had to stop. I know that the speed is there now, I showed in the first part of today’s race that I can run at the front so providing we have some luck at Oulton we should be ok!”
